Tradition meets passion.
Since the business was founded by great-grandfather Christian Graggaber, preserving the resources of the region has been at the core of our activities. The special, high-quality mountain larch wood, from which unique products are created by us, comes exclusively from neighbouring forests. We process this unmistakable natural material with extreme care, thus reducing the impact on people and the environment to a minimum.
As the first electrified sawmill in the Lungau region, we have set numerous benchmarks in terms of sustainable value creation to date. We develop new, sustainable, future-proof techniques for processing the resources in our region.
Locations
At our two sites in Mariapfarr and Unternberg, we produce high-quality sawn products from our Lungau mountain larch. At the 6-hectare premises in Mariapfarr, we produce our sought-after window scantlings in 4 production halls. All sawn products are processed at our site in Unternberg.
Our services
We get the best out of Lungau mountain larch, in every special dimension and with many years of know-how. From the core to the bark. In all lengths, raw or planed, as terrace or façade, as window scantlings or mini glulam beams. Touch wood.
Pretty much 100% of the wood waste accumulated is also recycled. For running our drying chambers, for the production of boards and paper or for use as garden mulch, for example. This philosophy of multiple use and short transport routes is something we practice every day and out of deepest conviction.
Terraces
Our terraces guarantee comfortable temperatures. They stay cool in the summer, and pleasantly warm in the spring and autumn. Further advantages result from the processing with vertical growth rings. This prevents splintering and chipping and also provides a much higher level of stability. You get the best possible reliability and natural durability in a look that is second to none!
Façades
In addition to their very long durability, our range of façades stand out due to their excellent combination options with different building materials, such as aluminium, rendered façade, glass or steel. They are the perfect solution for high-quality as well as innovative façade design, and for the production of design-oriented sunscreens and fences for maintaining privacy.
Glued wood
Since 2010, we have been producing high-grade and long-lasting window scantlings, certified by ift Rosenheim, at our site in Mariapfarr/Pichl. In collaboration with our long-standing customers, who are established on the market, we are supply glued laminated timber and Bilam/Trilam wood.
Sawn products
The mountain larch wood for our sawn timber products is solely drawn from higher altitudes in Austria. It is particularly popular due to its extremely fine fibres caused by extremely slow growth (approx. 350 years) possible in harsh alpine conditions. The narrow year rings and closure of pits in the sap conductors make the mountain larch resistant to decay. This is a quality not even the flatland larch can match. During the natural process of tree growth heartwood substances spread into the wood. If this has occurred to a sufficient degree the wood is suitable for use in contact with earth; something our employees can identify due to the presence of a dark red colouration in the wood.
Special products
Pretty much 100% of the residual timber accumulated is also recycled. For running our drying chambers, for the production of boards and paper or for use as garden mulch, for example. This philosophy of multiple use and short transport routes is something we practice every day and out of deepest conviction.
